Jedburgh Grammar Campus, Jedburgh

Client: Scottish Borders Council
Location: Jedburgh
Value: £32M
Status: Complete

Jedburgh Grammar Campus is a new intergenerational community campus providing Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Additional Support Needs education facilities for Jedburgh and the surrounding areas. The campus also has extensive community and sports facilities such as a multi-use games area (MUGA), 2G and 3G sports pitches, synthetic and grass running tracks, and a gym. BAM Construction appointed us to carry out the full M+E design for the facility, including overcoming building design challenges such as the requirement for a fully exposed high level services installation. This required an extensive coordination exercise within the project team, supported by the building and services being fully modelled using our Building Information Modelling software (Revit) to BIM Level 2.

During the initial design phase, our team of engineers carried out a full energy and sustainability enhancements assessment and report, which contributed to securing additional funding from Scottish Futures Trust for further fabric enhancements such as additional solar PV panels and lighting enhancements. Detailed daylight and natural ventilation analyses were also undertaken to ensure the building provided maximum efficiency and optimum environmental conditions.
